You can check the plumber’s license status and certificate of insurance via TSBPE’s License Search tool. Confirm they’re licensed and insured before service begins.
Call TSBPE’s Enforcement Department at (512) 936-5200, ext. 65249 to learn if any complaints were filed against the plumber. Local municipal inspectors may also have complaint or compliance information not reported to TSBPE.
If you believe a plumber has violated the Plumbing License Law or TSBPE rules (e.g., unlicensed work, code violations), you can:
TSBPE assigns a complaint number once your submission is received and determined to be within their jurisdiction. You will receive an acknowledgment letter confirming that the review has started.
Inspections may be conducted. TSBPE may issue fines, suspend or revoke licenses, or refer cases for hearings. Plumbers must respond within 20 days to any Notices of Alleged Violation.
